An
antique dealer makes a pact with the devil to sell cursed antiques from his
store. When he dies the store is taken over by his neice Micki and her cousin
Ryan. When they discover the secret of the sold antiques they team up with
occult expert, and long time friend of the owner Jack to track down all the
cursed antiques already sold and lock them away in a special vault before they
cause many deaths.

episodes over 3 series were made between 1987 - 1990 and a lot of the episodes
have a very 80s feel to them. A lot of people were also very disappointed when
it first aired as they expected it to be tied to the movie series and feature
Jason in some way, but of course this TV show was releated in name only.
Originally it was going to be called The 13th Hour but the producer thought
this title wouldn't attract an audience so it was changed to Friday 13th The
Series to essentually cash in on the movies legacy. Although the series is
mostly quite light on gore it's often quite fun with a good dose of 80s fashion
and cheesy effects, good acting from the main cast and on occasion some genuine
scares. a few episodes found their way onto the UKs VHS market with each tape
featuring 2 episodes and was released under the Friday's Curse title. As far as
I know only 3 tapes featuring 6 episodes were released though including Dr
Jack, Shadow Boxer, Faith Healer, The Electrocutioner, Tales Of The Undead
& Scarecrow.
