A young woman moves to Germany to train at a Ballet academy. She soon discovers that the academy is hiding a dark secret as a series of brutal murders occur.

There's little that can be said about this classic that hasn't been said many, many times already. Dario Argento's iconic movie is full of amazing camera work, stunning lighting and set pieces, wonderful performances and plenty of graphic gore. Jessica Harper is great as Suzy Bannion, the young woman drawn into a dark world of murder and witchcraft. Few horror movies look as good as this and the soundtrack is amazing. This is a movie that needs to be seen in the cinema if you can as few films can give you such an intense sensory experience as this does.

Dario Argento directed so many classic movies in the 70s and 80s and along with this we got Deep Red, Inferno, Tenebrae, Phenomena, etc. I will admit that I prefer Inferno over Suspiria, but this needs to be seen by any self respecting horror fan. The details surrounding the making of the movie is also well worth reading up on.
