An estate agent sends his associate Hutter to Transylvania to meet Count Orlok who wishes to buy an isolated house in Wisborg. Orlok is a vampire and once in his new home he sets his sights on Hutter's wife.

Based on Bram Stoker's book Dracula the vampire's name and locations were changed due to legal action. All copies of the movie were destroyed except for one and it's from that single copy we now have numerous different versions of this iconic silent movie. The history surrounding it makes for a very interesting read so definitely take some time to look into it. As for the film itself, well it's a classic of course and one that every horror fan should take the time to watch, more than once. It's atmospheric, creepy and Max Schreck's portrayal of Orlok is iconic. It's amazing how a movie that's now over 100 years old can still give you chills, but with it's filmmaking techniques and use of shadows it genuinely does. Highly recommended.
