Ghosthouse (1988)

Visitors to an old house where a brutal double murder occured 20 years before are killed off one by one, each having visions of a young girl and her creepy looking clown doll.

Written and directed by Umberto Lenzi and produced by Joe D'Amato this Italian haunted house movie doesn't exactly rise to the heights you'd expect from these two. In fact for the most part it's actually quite slow moving, but it does include a few good kills and a decent amount of gore. Obviously filmed on a low budget, it has the standard late 80s Italian look and feel to it and there are a couple of nice creepy scenes in the mix. Lara Wendel is top billed and genre fans will know her from movies like Tenebrae, Zombie 5: Killing Birds and The Perfume Of The Lady In Black. Sadly she retired from acting around 1993. If you're a lover of low budget bad horror then you'll get some entertainment from Ghosthouse, if not then probably best to give this one a miss.
